Hotmail, message rules, and OE

Hi all:

I'm wondering if there's a way to filter messages using Outlook Express with a free hotmail account. I've tried creating new folders within OE using that account, but it won't let me create them through OE directly, and I can't seem to find on the Hotmail site where I can create folders and have them imported into the list of folders already listed in that account. If this can be done, any help would be appreciated in how to do it, or if it can't, that would be nice to know, too. It would just be kind of nice to have messages filtered into different folders so they don't all go to my Inbox. I saw where you could create filters on the Hotmail site itself, but I'm not sure if that's for the site only, or if the rules I would create there would import into OE. Feel free to reply to this post, or send me a private message or something.
Thanks,
Liz

1. Log into your hotmail account on the website.
2. Go to your inbox.
3. Below the link for "hotmail plus" and above the link for "inbox" is a link called "folders." Click it.
4. On the folders screen, you will see choices like new, rename, etc. These are not links but rather clickable objects. Place your virtual/MSAA cursor directly on the word "new" and press enter.
5. You will then be taken to a page where you can name the folder. Arrow to the edit box where you type the name and press enter to turn on Forms Mode or turn off MSAA mode.
6. Type the folder name and press enter.
7. Go into your options and create filters to sort your mail into the folders on the hotmail website. These folders should then be mirrored when you run OE.

If you get junk mail like tons of it you can use a junk mail filter. But make sure your contacts are in a area where their emails wont get tossed out.
